Basis for processing
We may process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- Steps prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter – the GDPR)) – when you apply or agree to proceed with the recruitment process for a particular job position, and we assess your suitability for the role;
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) – for example when we manage and administer recruitment processes, identify and approach potential candidates based on publicly available professional information, maintain recruitment records for a limited period after the recruitment process, share candidate information within Mediatech where relevant for recruitment purposes, or ensure the security and proper functioning of our recruitment systems.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR) – when you permit us to contact you about the future job opportunities;
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR) – where processing is necessary to comply with applicable legal requirements.
Please note you are not legally obliged to provide us with your personal information under statutory requirement. However, if you do not provide us with information, we may not be able to assess your application or continue the recruitment process.
We never ask for special categories of personal data (e.g. health data) as a mandatory during the initial recruitment process. If you nevertheless and against our will provide us with such data, the legal basis for processing is your consent (Art. 9(2)(a) of the GDPR).
Data storage term
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- Applicants and candidates who are not hired, including those, who applied for a specific position or were sourced or referred – personal data is generally stored for up to 1 (one) year after the recruitment process ends or our last contact with you, except where we need to keep it longer to meet legal requirements or address potential disputes (for example, to demonstrate that our recruitment practices were fair and non-discriminatory).
- Candidates who consent to future opportunities – personal data may be stored for up to 3 (three) years from the date of consent or last relevant contact, unless consent is withdrawn earlier.
- Successful candidates – relevant recruitment data will become part of the employee file and will be stored according to the employee privacy policy and applicable legal requirements.
Data sharing
We may share your data with:
- other companies within Mediatech if we see that you could be a great fit for an open position they have.
- our third-party service providers, who assist us in managing recruitment processes, including providers of applicant tracking systems, communication or video interview tools, transcription or note-taking tools, artificial intelligence (AI) and/or automation tools, skills testing or assessment services, IT support, hosting and cloud storage services, analytics or reporting tools; and legal, audit, insurance or other professional services. In any case, they can access the data only as much as is needed for the provision of the relevant services;
- public authorities, courts, or other entities when disclosure is required by law, court order, or a lawful request or as needed to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights, or to respond to legal claims and/or complaints.
Some recipients of your personal data may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we make sure that that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws, for example by using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (you could find them here:
https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-data-protection/standard-contractual-clauses-scc_en) or relying on other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Usage of recruitment tools and AI
As part of our recruitment processes, we may use software tools, including tools that incorporate artificial intelligence functionalities, to support recruitment administration and candidate evaluation.
These tools may assist us with activities such as:
- reviewing CVs and application materials to identify how closely a candidate’s qualifications and experience match the requirements of a role;
- generating summaries of CVs, application materials or interview feedback;
- organizing and documenting information related to recruitment; and
- creating transcripts, notes or summaries during interviews or recruitment calls.
Some steps of the recruitment process may also involve automated workflow rules, for example eligibility checks or application limits, designed to ensure the proper functioning and fairness of our recruitment systems.
These tools are used to support our recruiters and hiring managers and to improve the efficiency and consistency of recruitment processes. They do not replace human assessment.
Final hiring decisions are always made by human decision-makers. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on candidates without appropriate human involvement.
Where interviews are recorded, transcribed or processed using note-taking tools, we will inform you in advance where required by applicable law.
Keeping your data safe
We take information security seriously and put a great effort to ensure the information we hold on you remains safe. We implement appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. We limit who has access to your information and ensure that those who do are bound by contracts to keep your information availability restricted and safe. However, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. And even though we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through any online means.

- to object to the processing of your personal data if it is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest;
- in cases where your personal data is processed on a consent basis, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time;
- if you believe that the processing of your personal data does not comply with applicable data protection laws, you have a right to contact a relevant data protection authority (State Data Protection Inspectorate in Lithuania or other authority in the Member State of your habitual residence or place of an alleged infringement of the GDPR) and seek a judicial remedy. We would appreciate it if in any case you would contact us first to resolve the problem together.
